Our approach

A clinic built around hands-on, evidence-led care.

Physio Impact is a friendly, professional physiotherapy clinic with two locations in Central Auckland — our main rooms in Eden Terrace, and a satellite at Carbon Method CrossFit in Mt Eden. We work with everyday clients, weekend athletes, and high-performance international athletes and sports teams.

Our physiotherapists are trained in manual therapy, dry needling and Western acupuncture, and exercise rehabilitation. We pair hands-on treatment with targeted, individualised rehab plans so the gains made in the clinic translate into lasting strength, mobility, and confidence in your activity of choice.

Whether you're recovering from surgery, managing an acute injury, or building toward a sporting goal, we take the time to understand what you're trying to get back to — and design treatment around it.

01

Assess

A thorough diagnostic assessment to understand the injury and what's driving it.

02

Treat

Hands-on manual therapy, mobilisation, acupuncture or dry needling as appropriate.

03

Rehabilitate

A tailored exercise plan that restores strength, resilience and reduces re-injury risk.

Services

Four disciplines, one coordinated plan.

Our physiotherapists draw on manual therapy, acupuncture, exercise rehabilitation and massage. Most clients move between these as their recovery progresses — all guided by a single, integrated treatment plan.

Training for the Auckland Marathon? The four injuries we see most — and how to stay ahead of them

Nine weeks out from the Harbour Bridge, something starts to hurt. The four running injuries we treat most in a marathon build-up — patellofemoral pain, shin splints, Achilles tendinopathy and plantar heel pain — how to tell a niggle from a real injury within 24 hours, and why stopping running is usually the wrong answer.

Common questions

Before your first visit.

The things new clients ask us most — referrals, ACC, and what to expect. Anything else, give us a call on 09 948 9066.

Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist?
No. Physiotherapists are primary healthcare practitioners in New Zealand, so you can book with us directly. If your injury is accident-related, we can lodge the ACC claim for you at your first appointment — no paperwork needed beforehand.
What's the difference between ACC and private rates?
If your injury was caused by an accident and your ACC claim is accepted, ACC subsidises your treatment — you pay only the surcharge ($65 for an initial consultation, $55 for follow-ups). Private rates ($115 initial, $95 follow-up) apply to non-accident problems such as gradual-onset pain, or if you prefer not to claim through ACC.
What should I wear or bring to my appointment?
Comfortable clothing you can move in — shorts are ideal for hip, knee or ankle injuries, and a singlet for shoulders and backs. If you have scans, specialist letters or a rehab programme from elsewhere, bring them along; they're helpful but not required.
What happens at my first appointment?
A thorough assessment to understand your injury and what's driving it, followed by hands-on treatment on the day. You'll leave with a clear diagnosis, a treatment plan, and the first steps of an exercise programme tailored to your goals.
Which clinic should I book — Eden Terrace or Mt Eden?
Our main rooms at 123A Dominion Road, Eden Terrace suit most appointments — physiotherapy, acupuncture and massage. The Mt Eden satellite at Carbon Method CrossFit runs by appointment and is ideal for performance and strength-based rehabilitation.
Can I book with a specific clinician?
Yes — online booking lets you choose your physiotherapist or massage therapist directly. Appointments with Patrick Peng, our high-performance consultant physiotherapist, are by arrangement — call the clinic to enquire (consultant fees apply).

Two roles open in Central Auckland.

We're a small, hands-on team with two Central Auckland clinics and a caseload that runs from everyday injuries through to international athletes. Both roles below sit at our Eden Terrace rooms, with scope to work across the Mt Eden performance space. Applications to admin @ physioimpact.co.nz.

Full-time · Eden Terrace

Senior Physiotherapist

Acute injury & sports rehabilitation

Full-time (0.8 FTE considered)

We're looking for an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist to take on an established caseload in acute injury management and sports rehabilitation. You'll work alongside clinicians with elite-sport backgrounds across gymnastics, rugby, netball and MMA, with genuine autonomy over how you treat.

The role suits someone confident in acute assessment and early-stage management, comfortable with pitchside and event cover, and interested in mentoring the earlier-career members of our team.

What you'll bring

  • Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand, current APC
  • Five or more years' post-graduate musculoskeletal experience
  • Strong manual therapy skills — Mulligan or equivalent certification an advantage
  • Confident in acute injury triage and concussion assessment
  • Experience with ACC claim management and ACC32 requests

Also useful

  • Dry needling or Western acupuncture qualification
  • Sideline or team physiotherapy experience
  • Post-graduate study underway or completed

What we offer

  • Established caseload from day one, with direct online booking
  • Mentoring role within a team of seven clinicians
  • Access to sports team and event cover work
  • Annual CPD allowance
  • Two clinic sites, including a performance space at Carbon Method CrossFit

Full-time · New graduate

New Graduate Physiotherapist

Structured first-year programme

Full-time

A first-year role for a 2025 or 2026 graduate who wants to build a musculoskeletal and sports caseload properly, with support around them. You'll start on a reduced book and build up over your first six months, with weekly mentoring from a senior clinician and protected time for in-service learning.

We'll help you find your interest rather than assume it — but if ACL and post-operative rehabilitation is where you're headed, there's a strong pathway here.

What you'll bring

  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand
  • BHSc (Physiotherapy) or equivalent
  • Genuine interest in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy
  • Willingness to learn hands-on manual therapy technique

Also useful

  • Background in sport, coaching or exercise science
  • Clinical placement experience in private practice

What we offer

  • Weekly one-on-one mentoring through your first year
  • Graduated caseload build over six months
  • Protected in-service and case review time
  • Support toward post-graduate study — acupuncture, manual therapy or clinical Pilates
  • Exposure to surgical rehabilitation and high-performance work as you progress
